5 water parks to visit in Europe

Adrenaline, fun and, above all, freshness. Every summer, water parks offer the opportunity to escape the high temperatures of the city and immerse ourselves in an oasis of fun and pleasant pools in which to have a good time while cooling down.

Europe is home to some of the best water parks in the world. Do you want to know them? Take advantage and take note because we are sure that one of them will become your next holiday destination.

The best water parks

The best water parks in Europe have become an attraction for water park lovers from all over the world, who are increasingly coming to the Old Continent to enjoy them. And it’s no wonder considering the gems that can be found there.

Grab your new Havaianas because we’re going to make a splash.

Siam Park (Spain)

Nowadays it is impossible to talk about water parks all over the world without mentioning Siam Park. This water park on the island of Tenerife has been voted the world’s best water park in the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best in 2023 for the ninth year in a row. And no wonder because Siam Park in Adeje (south of Tenerife) has attractions for all tastes.

If you’re having a lazy day you can let yourself go on one of the floats on the Mai Thai River that runs through the park. If you prefer to enjoy some good waves, the best place to go is the Palacio de las Olas pool. And if you feel like getting your adrenaline pumping, you have one of the best water slides in Europe, The Tower of Power, which is 28 metres high and ends in a tunnel that crosses a pool of sharks and manta rays.

But you can also enjoy Europe’s best water park in a more VIP way, opting for a Balinese bed in the Champagne Club or one of the private cabins with a terrace, towels, sofa or TV. In addition, it also has attractions adapted for children, play areas and even the only baby pool in the Canary Islands.

In summer Siam Park is also committed to fun in the water at night with its Siam Nights on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8pm to 12pm, with night shows, music and attractions.

Aquashow Park Hotel (Portugal)

This water park in the Portuguese Algarve has slides, pools and attractions for the whole family that are distributed between an indoor and outdoor area. In fact, it is the first water park in the Iberian Peninsula with an indoor area.

But the best thing about this water park is that it is also made for those who don’t enjoy the thrill of vertigo, but rather the relaxation provided by the spa. Make sure you bring your Havaianas Top because you can enjoy the Turkish bath, sauna and whirlpool baths

Of course, you can’t miss the water slides, nor the White Fall slide outside, nor the Tornado slide, in the covered area and 26 metres high.

Caribe Bay (Italy)

If you are planning to go to Italy this summer but want a Caribbean experience, you can visit the Caribe Bay water park. As you can imagine, it is set on the Caribbean beaches and has themed attractions and shows with internationally known artists.

There are all kinds of activities for the little ones, such as discovering the Mayan treasures in the Roatan. But you can also enjoy the wave pool after sliding down the Chichen Itza pool. Don’t forget your Havaianas Slide because we assure you that you won’t be able to stop walking around this water park to make sure you don’t miss a thing.

The best indoor water parks

But not all water parks are outdoors, and some of Europe’s best water parks are indoors. A good example is the Tropical Islands in Brandenburg, Germany. It is Europe’s largest tropical resort with white sandy beaches, waterfalls, Balinese huts and even introductory diving courses.

But another not to be missed is Aquaworld in Budapest, Hungary. This water park has a central temple inspired by that of Ankor Wat and you can enjoy 11 water slides and 19 pools designed for families. It also has saunas, thermal baths, a wave pool and surfing pools.

The highest water slides in the world

But if you want to get your adrenaline pumping on some of the wildest water slides in the world, pay attention because this list will leave you open-mouthed:

  1. Kilimanjaro: In Brazil, with a height of 49.9 metres.
  2. Insano: Also in Brazil, with a height of 41.5 metres.
  3. Captain Spacemaker: In Norway, 36 metres high.
